Question About Harddisk
« on: October 16, 2008, 07:13:41 AM »
when you paste a 100MB into a 10gig harddisk with only 50 MB space left, would there be a high chance that the harddisk would break?

if it gets broken, is there any chance of recovering the files?

I don't think it would break, I think it tells you that you can't do this because you have too little space or something...

haha

Nah it doesn't break, it just adds the amount of missing space to the hdd like, i copy a 200gb file to a 160gb hdd, the hdd turns into a 200gb model

J/k.

it doesn't break man  it just shows up a gay error telling you that you have to little space and the operation will fail if you do not delete any files, thats it.

Aslong as you don't use an extremly old OS or some expiremental drivers it should just give you an error.
But if you use an old OS or special tools for it, you might overwrite some usefull data or even mess up regions of the harddisk which can't be corrected later anymore.

There is a way, seriously. The problem is, you won't get the files back as good as the "FBI", or some other sort of police, or a professional.
