I lost my best stunt landed in VC for the same reason, a week ago. It sucks hard indeed.

When saving replays be sure that you don't press f3 right after pressing f2. Wait some seconds otherwise it will crash.

I know those things, you don't have to tell me, but sometimes, it's just inevitable :(

Don't overwrite on another replay, make sure there is no replay.rep file in your folder when saving one.

That's the thing, I alt-tabbed to the rep folder, to rename my last replay, and then went to save the new one.
Maybe that was the problem, probably should've waited a little longer after going back in the game to save the rep.
I hope someone will land this, 'cause I've been trying it for a month & I'm really done with it.

and yea replay crash sucks ball´s hard the last time it happend 2 me was in the first challange from satl ...
but i thing it was only becouse i was have a only very short place on my hd ( some mb´s ) !

It's poss, if you put an mtb between the fence & set the packer to the very side by that house, just have to set it up correctly, I can give you a savegame with a perfect set up.

When saving replays be sure that you don't press f3 right after pressing f2. Wait some seconds otherwise it will crash.
I learned to press "F1,F2,F1,F2..." for like 10 seconds but it totally ruined the saving most of the time.
Today I just press "F2" a few times without pressing "F1" first, and it works every time.
What kind of stunt were you planning to rename anyway, Determined? I hope it wasn't a close attempt of it so you walked out there with nothing useful :P

ONCE up on a time lilj was driving in his nrg trying to land this fucking stunt so after alot of attempts he got it done and he wanted to save the rep , f2 , oh yeah lets view DIS SHITTTT , f3 , FUCK FUCK GAME FREEZED BOOM SHAKA LAKA , i chilled , deleted the rep , reopend sa for more trying , boom , first try landed , hahahhaha iam so lucky , i love it when my reps crash , here is a story , wat do u learn from it ? , noting , go get me some cookies , and milk , and bananas

1) Land stunt
2) Hit F2
3) Alt+tab, rename replay.rep to awesome_stunt1.rep
4) Alt+tab back into game
5) Hit F2
6) alt+tab, rename to awesome_stunt2.rep
That way you'll never suffer from having a crashed rep because you'll have atleast 2 of every stunt.

Nah, that will rewrite the current replay.rep , so you will have only once if I am not mistaken.

move a little after each saved replay so it's not the same
maybe u really need to fly away to let all objects to reset (it this is the problem)

it already happened to me, when I landed a stunt and no matter how many replays I saved, it kept crashing
I'm almost sure it is a collision bug or whatever in the replay, so i don't think there's any kind of solution to this

I've only experienced replay crashes in certain areas. I can make 100 replays of one stunt in one area and have 0 replay crashes or I can make 100 replays of a stunt in a different area and have 80 replay crashes.

Another crash happened. This time i've tried next:
1st F2 just 10 secs after landing.
2nd F2 after i moved i little bit on landing area
3rd F2 after i teleported back to start of run-up
4th F2 after i moved after i teleported
Everything crashed. This "teleport back to start of run up" was a Grescha's idea from another topic about crashes.
Next thing i wanna try is to overfill replay (keep making replays until them will be more than 780 kBs so possible problematic moment will be removed from the beginning of replay and replaced with normal in the end of replay).
Another thing to think about is some "PC problems" - memory, register etc. But it seems to be kinda shaky since nobody can't tell what causes crashes.

I don't remember the last time i had replay crash.. I just keep my GTA SA User Files folder clean of replay.rep - only saved games and settings file, that's all. When i landed stunt i'm waiting like 10 secs or a bit more, after i press F2 and keep waiting a bit, probably 10 secs - it's enough. Then, you can watch it or alt tab to move rep from the folder
to another place, but keep GTA SA User Files clean.
I guess replay crashes may cause of fast moves like press F2 and then F3 to watch or fast alt tab after F2, the game probably can't write the file.. but this is only my thoughts.

Not a SA guy, but although in VC there isnt a replay problem (since 2008 I probably had 1 or 2 replay problems) with crashing, I am super cautious when I land a stunt and it's time to save a replay: Carefully place my finger on the F2 button, taking extra measures not to hit F3 before F2 with my shaking hands fom the built up adrenaline after the landed stunt. After I press F2 SUPER HARD and I check if the replay is saved I am finally relieved and I can fap in peace.
So saving a rep in SA feels like a minesweeper?
