Aero Reapers Video Releases / Re: Plani - ILUSIONISTA
« on: January 10, 2024, 12:52:32 PM »
I haven't been well recently (hence why I've barely posted or watched anything recently), but this raised my spirits a little bit :D. Great stunts and sharp editing Plani, I like the video's title too! I think 1:47 (dat curve and 180 doe ) and the last two stunts were my favourites .

Gaming Discussion / Re: GTA VI Official Discussion Topic

I'm excited for the game, everything shown so far looks amazing. I hope they can deliver a great story still, given that Dan Houser left Rockstar Games recently. The trailer views are crazy, I think this will be the biggest entertainment launch of all time. I hope the game's mission design evolves to support more varied approaches, GTA's mission design feels dated in some ways, I'd like to see the freedom from games such as Deus Ex, Dishonored, Metal Gear Solid V, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, and more.

I have little doubt this will be a monumental release, both in quality and sales, but things can change, so we'll see. It's a shame there's no PC release at launch, as usual, but I'm not sure if I'll buy a PS5 or wait for PC, it depends how much restraint I have :ninja:. I've never felt so hyped for a game release besides GTA V, and Zelda BOTW/TOTK.

The map looks great for stunting, the YouTube stunting community will doubtlessly blow up again for a couple of years at least. I don't think I'll stunt GTA VI, if I did I would probably make one video max to help guide the stunting community in the right direction, but honestly, I just want to come back to stunting GTA VC/SA/IV/V soon, finish my handful of projects, and move on when I'm done, my time is limited :P.

I wish the best to everyone who gives it a shot though, everyone here has a massive advantage compared to new stunters, so it's quite likely the community could make some popular videos, it'll be nice to see some GTAStunting videos hit the masses again :).

Modus Operandi Public Section / Re: MO - Magnum OPUS

I was so hyped for this guys, I've waited years for my favourite VC crew to come back, and here you are with your final video, it feels like a big moment in VC's history. I was maybe too hyped, because my hopes and dreams were for something to match Cenotaph or come close to it, so I was both filled with immense satisfaction but also ridiculously high expectations, which led to slight disappointment my first time watching through. Then I watched it again, and again, and yeah, you know where this is going. Modus Operandi delivers a classic, I just love this video, it's the best VC crew video ever made, and easily in the top 5 best VC videos of all time.

Magnum Opus consists of top class stunts, and one of the best edits we've seen in the stunting community. Difficulty, check. Skill, check. Creativity, check. Variety, check. Consistency, check. I don't want to spotlight too many stunts so I don't disappoint anyone, therefore I'll just mention my five absolute favourite stunts; ZeRo's legit landing of Boo's spot (BIG); Fighter's wallride to precision (SMOOTH); Knapman's ramp combo to bridge grind (SICK); Max's Rhino SAiVC SSM to bigass building (TIGHT); and Krypton's curvy CSM prefinisher (WOW).

Kingjad finally nailed the Rhino ring too, respect man! Rainbow showed me his spinny bump 5-6 years ago as well, I'm glad he listened to my advice and went with the spinny variant (if he remembers our conversation :ninja:).

Max's edit was full of dedication and mastery, just wonderful, and I loved what he did with TurBo's Borgnine grind boost to tracks boost to BB landing, that truck fake out was genius. Little details like the dreamlike distortions, the slow motion highlights, the time of day modulations during Gryzlek's fire station grind, the power lines syncing with the music in the intro (missed that, shoutout Dannye), the basketball's cadence building up to the hip hop section, the sneaky UFO interlude, the ATS Absurd influence with the graffiti textures, everything demonstrates fastidious passion for the final product. The music was dope too, and it was great to see some tracks from GTAS members in the mix.

I don't want to be a downer, but I wasn't a fan of the story sections. I have respect for the time it takes to code the SCM files and everything, and I loved how you paid tribute to ATS and commented on the struggles of stunting as we get older, but I just felt like these sections didn't serve the stunts at all, because the narrative wasn't compelling. It was also difficult to understand the dialogue at times, the subtitles shouldn't be a necessity. I know it's fun to work on this stuff, but I just felt like you were mixing something that's amazing (the stunts) with something that's lethargic (the story), and it made the video feel bloated, so I've been skipping through these sections on subsequent viewings. I didn't want to say anything, but I figured I should be honest since that makes for better feedback. I don't think telling a story in a stunt video is a bad idea, I actually think if done right, it would be brilliant, but I'm not sure I've ever seen it done well by this community :P.

Moving swiftly on to the conclusion... sorry for my comments on the story stuff :ninja:. This video is brilliant, I think you all should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved. Who would have imagined something so fantastic like this would be made when Vice City was released 20+ years ago? Thanks for the memories, see you down the line :euro:. Spelllllllllbound!

GTA Modding / Re: Freeplay
« on: September 12, 2023, 06:07:02 AM »
Nice job as always! :)

With regards to DC's suggestion, I have a streamlined solution in mind (as long as it's technically achievable). Freeplay has the ability to recognise which frame is being played at any given moment, so why not let the player tap a hotkey while watching a replay to set their desired starting point, and then whenever a replay is opened, Freeplay would automatically start the replay on the frame number which was set by the hotkey, which could then be disabled by simply tapping the hotkey again?

This seems better than writing USCM data into replays, since that wouldn't work with old replays, and it seems better than detecting large deviations in coordinate data too, since that wouldn't work with things like Monster Dynamics in SA which can instantly teleport you elsewhere. Sometimes it's beneficial to position your angle before the successful attempt begins too (especially when the runup is short), which would also be possible with this method :euro:.

It's always a pleasure when your videos pop up, you have a distinct style that resonates with my soul. Loved the plethora of Sanchez stunts, I've always felt that the Sanchez hasn't come close to its full potential, and I think your version of Simon's casino spot might be my favourite stunt in the video, that had such a sick serendipitous flick mid way through.

Stellar editing and smooth visuals, old games often look more dated than they should with modern LCDs and high resolutions, I think your use of copious crossfades and VCR compression strangely works in the game's favour, the visuals feel comfy and nostalgic. It reminded me of watching Tony Hawk's skateboarding guides on DVD, then going in my garden to try landing an ollie, only to fail and feel despondent, and months later going to a skate park on a school trip, then trying to descend down a half pipe, only to fall off backwards... but failing is fun, and so is this video :D. I'm 30 but I feel like I'm 40 when I realise that Vice City is about 21 years old... it's good to see guys like you still killing it regardless .

I just watched the original video and the additions, nice! The Fire Truck grind was easily the best in my opinion :D.

SA Un-Modded Video Releases / Re: Noid

Fantastic stunts and editing! Gesior's tool seems like a godsend, and Artifex gave it a workout :cc_detective:. I do think some angles and cuts prioritised novelty over clarity though, I skipped back multiple times to fully understand some stunts on my first viewing, like Biel's opener (I had to pause the video just to see that he selected a Bandito for his CSM), Alienboy's stunt (the mounted camera in the middle breaks perspective so you can't easily see what happens), Legend's first grind combo (confusing cuts to new angles during complex spins), and Diaz's stunt (I had to pause to see what he bumped in the middle of the combo because the fence blocked visibility). I still loved the edit but having to skip back breaks the spell every time it happens, because you have to disrupt your immersion to understand what's going on.

There were lots of dope stunts but I'm always looking for surprises, and Sport's stunt felt freshest to me - we've seen this concept in the past, but I don't think it's been used with a curved double grind where the gas tank switches sides each time, the landmark looked amazing with this method too ;D. Sick job guys, keep it up! This video makes me miss stunting, but sometimes life gets in the way... :( :euro:.

SA Un-Modded Video Releases / Re: BlackTear - Conclusion

I find most videos entertaining these days, but I do miss feeling the wow factor that happens when true masters release their work. I know some don't trust you, and I have some questions myself (2x speed cinematic cams in many of your live clips - I'm not sure if that means slowitdown might have been used, or if cinematic camera speed scales with FPS instead, or if you just sped them up while editing them, or whatever else could be causing this without testing), but man, you doubtlessly have brilliant creativity and skill ;D.

My favourite stunt was easily the MTB tecjump to bridge tecjump 180 to jump to backstoppie wallkick tecjump to spins to grind at 2:34 (you know it's good when it's a mouthful ). I loved that backstoppie wallkick method in general actually, it feels like a bit of a game changer for bicycle stunting. No honest individual can deny you have one of SA's greatest minds, respect for your stunts and editing man as long as everything's legit .

Well done, there were many highlights but I'll just say that everyone landed some nice stunts! Ezraph's editing was definitely the star of the show, though I did think a couple of stunts were difficult to fully understand on my first viewing (like Haywire/ZeRo's spot, it's tricky to simultaneously follow the specifics of both versions unless you know the differences between them in advance). I'm looking forward to Haywire's section too :ninja:.

Good stunts, somehow GTA 3 and VCS are the only 3D GTA games I haven't tried stunting in . Keep it up! :)

does LCS have bikes? I only played VCS back in the day

LCS has bikes yeah, look up Limits of the Powers from the old days :ninja:.

Nice! My favourite stunts were the Ratel + Phantom Wedge multiplayer bump to building, and the Ruffian multi bump to sign precision.
