Current Version: 1.1
Grand Theft Auto United is a modification based on GTA San Andreas for the Personal Computer, which replaces the gamearea, the so called map, of GTA San Andreas with the maps of the two GTA Games GTA III and GTA Vice City; on basis of the graphic- and physicengine of GTA San Andreas.

GTA United is exclusive for the two GTA-Fansites www.gta-worldmods.de (http://www.gta-worldmods.de) and www.gtainside.com (http://www.gtainside.com) and is only allowed to be hosted on these two sites. Furthermore, GTA United is not commerciall, the developer team doesn't earn money with the modification, but create it free for everyone to access it on GTA-WorldMods and GTAInside.
Currently the team around GTA United works on the successor of Beta 1.1, called Version 1.2, which will include hundreds ID fixes, a new limit adjuster, map and scipt fixes on mass, more shops, new loadscreens, a clean version (so the world doesn't include things which aren't original), and many more. The release date isn't set yet, because there is still some work to do. But we will present informations about our progress every time, we have something to present.

flat face: the last time i checked the sol thread on gtaf it was said that they try to MIX the cityparts of each game to one city. This mod trys to get all GTA3 engine citys into one big world next to each other

Read the first post carefully. In this beta Vice City and Liberty City are united. San Andreas will be in the final version of this mod, but this Beta 1 will replace it.

All depends how fast Sacky will be able to hack the limit's perfectly. As you maybe know, San Andreas have a limit to how many objects could be loaded on the map. Nobody was able to break it. Sacky did the impossible thing and hacked it for this mod. You can download his SA Limit Adjuster here: Link (http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=295783)
For all three Cities is the Limit Adjuster not strong enough yet. But we're sure, that Sacky will do it. So, we can't say when it's done, but the team does there best.

What does this Modification?
The Beta 1 of GTA United will replace San Andreas with Vice City and Liberty City.
Is there a way to uninstall the modification, that i don't need to reinstall San Andreas?
No, San Andreas will be replaced. Install a clean, unmodded version of San Andreas. Copy the whole game to another place, that you have it twice on your harddisk. One version for the normal San Andreas, one for GTA United. Install then GTA United over one San Andreas version.
Is in GTA United a radar implemented?
Yes. It shows the whole two cities.
My GTA United crash or doesn't work! What should I do?
Make sure you installed it into a clean, unmodded GTA San Andreas directory.

AMD had at the 20.12.07 a harddisc crash and lost the bugfixes he already did for the LC part. He's currently re-fixing them. Beside of that, the patch is on it's way, many bugs and crashes are fixed already.

Sacky cracked the San Andreas Map Bounds 100%
Now nothing will stop or block the Team to add San Andreas. San Andreas will not be in Beta 1.1 ... but GTA United ~ SAVCLC will come.

Not good for stunting.

Wrong. Most SA Stunts are Grinds, Bumps, P2Bs, Grabs and stuff like that. There is no need for traffic. So it doesn't effect stunting, that LCVC Peds & Cars will be added. For stunting methods that needs the traffic, like Carbumps or MD Stuff, SA will be normal, only VCLC wouldn't have the SA traffic. For VCLC it will the question if it will be accepted, yes. My opinion on that: Yay for more/new fun in VCLC.

I dont know what the fuck is going on with you, I copyed all Files on a CLEAN install of SA, started it and play it well okay I have 2-4Fps less but whatever still 30-40fps in LC. Yea, well I really would like to see a Dannye's scm for United.

We did a decision. It was planned, that after Beta 1.1 the working on Beta 2.0 should begin, which will include San Andreas aswell. Now we create before Beta 2.0 a Beta 1.2. 1.2 will include again more bugfixes and new things. One new thing will be, that you can decide during the installation of United, if you want to install the Ferry or not. So Beta 1.2 will be stunter-friendly again. Anyway, we start working on Beta 1.2 now and won't make a Patch for Beta 1.1 that will delete the ferry. To the release date of Beta 1.2 i can only say: probably in 2 months.

... now that the winter vacation is over it is right about time to start into the new year with showing you some progress of the modification. But first of all we hope you had a great christmas and new year's eve. We all wish you the best for the new year, especially personal luck and health. Also we want to thank you for more than 20.000 views on our DevPage (http://united.aschratt.com).
For GTA United 2010 gets an important year. A timeline gets more and more solid and we are aiming for an huge beta test around this year ending in the long estimated release of version 1.2. A lot of things have changed the last time since we brought the last news to you over half a year ago. We want to use this announcement to brief our work of the last month and give you a short insight into the near future of the mod ending in the beta testing stage mentioned above.
Conclusion
Well the last month have been used to change a lot of backround stuff of the mod to get it more and more stable and in this view there is 1 milestone open which comes around with some coding work. Basicly this is uninteresting to you since we still do not know if it really helps our target. Anyway this change will be one of the last ones before the beta stage starts. But what we've done was: changing the whole ID system and reorganize it so that there is more space for adding cars and pedestriants and stuff. Also we cleaned up unused objects and merged some models. This gives us more space for further steps e.g. adding new map parts like San Andreas. Still there are to much limits blocking this plan, but basicly we got enought space to add the map.
Another important milestone is the reorganisation and debugging of the scriptbackround. We are using an not very well known way of scripting for a better source organisation which helps us to debug the script in a better way. We are able to disable and enable several parts of the script in general without removing many parts what makes it pretty easy to test the interoperation of specific parts of the script. Recreating the script was an huge step, but it also was very important and in the end we and you can only take profit from this decision. We also decidet to remove some existing parts which we didn't like so much and add new parts to approach the modification to the original game. For example we replaced the ferry by a plane script, or we have added some new scripts like the beach party and the lowrider meeting script. Also we are now using some CLEO technologies to get a better control of some parts of the game which are unsupported by native SCM. To name an example in here is a more realistic weather appearance.
The most important point which is still left open is memory manipulation. We decidet to add some stuff what was impossible for now in modding to stay on a up-to-date niveau of modding. As the first mod using the Limit Adjuster we want to continue this way. Anyway this is the most dagerous part because it causes many incompatibilities between several systems. You may have allready recognized that previous versions of GTA United crashes on many systems. This is usually caused by too much memory manipulation. With 1.2 we reduce the extern memory manipulation by introducing an experimental new technology that patches your game to fit with the modification, instead of hooking it each time you start it. The last way may be blocked by security software and we also already found some of those problems with introducing CLEO to our modification. Anyway for most of the crashes with the new versions there are workarounds. If they really work the beta testing stage will show.
One last important thing with new stuff is the new installer. We do not want to say many things about it since we already did in the previous news. Basicly it simplifies the modifications installation to an very easy level so that there should not be many problems with it.
What has been done the last weeks?
The last weeks brought up some new interesting stuff to the modification. In the field of mapping we finished the detail remapping milestone. With Shoresite Vale the last part of Liberty City got filled with missing details and models. Now the game looks like their ancestors did. But this is just the base for what we want. We want to bring the look to a level of San Andreas. This is why there are still 2 milestones missing in here. First of all we are going to create a new seabed the next weeks. Also we are customizing some of the models (e.g. missing roofs in Liberty City). And finally we are adjusting some smaller stuff like water and weather appearance.
Also the script and new graphics have been finally added to the current internal version of the modification which brought up another internal testing version of the mod. Here you find some screenshots:

To come to an end we hope that progress goes well the next weeks. We will talk about the beta testing stage and how people can get nominated for it. We will create some bug tracking system for it and we will need a platform for comunication for the testers. But this will not happen during the next weeks since it depends on the whole progress of the modification, so please do not send us applications or personal advertisement. Of course we will inform you about this later on!

Well, we added around 6000 new objects and around 200 new models. To answer your question, you can never be absolutly sure that EVERYTHING got included. But we should reached this goal as near as possible now. ;)

Alright, after some heavy time problems caused of university, I got today the newest intern version of Version 1.2. It's going forward, guys. Still a good amount to do, but yeah, we aren't dead or something ;).
Well, I will cut in the next 1-2 weeks a demonstration video of Version 1.2, which will show some new things of 1.2, which are already made and ingame. Will you inform you then. :)

Got all the roof cols fixed? It's annoying as hell when trying to stunt and you fall through a roof straight into bluehell.

That's one of the next things we gonna do. Latest step was to add missing things and delete dublicates. Parts of the script got overworked aswell, as new scripts got added, too.

NOT JUST ANOTHER VERSION
We are back and are glad to be able to spread this news. :) While the time we need for the new and announced Version 1.2 increases constantly and because of that we always must listen to the question, whether we still work on the modification - we can ensure you. Neither are we "dead", yet inactive and certainly we do not give up. Our objective for Version 1.2 is, to make it clear, very high and this simply means, that we need with a moderate teamsize an appropriate time for the completion and fulfillment of our goals. We do have dreams and we want this dreams to become true. But all in all we can tell, that we already finished a lot of stuff on our lists. It's going forward, every day and we will reach our goal! Let's come to the newest of all informations. :)
Let us remember the last versions of GTA United, thus there where for everybody the one or the other problems within the game, which influenced the feel of the game negatively. We as developers have made it back then our mission, to fix those problems under all circumstances as good as we can, so that a great gameflow and an accordingly experience can arise. Aschratt and ATP of our modification now solved once and for all one of our biggest major problems. From this time on we are able to save and load savegames! GTA United 1.2 includes a functional save system. The times of the eternal startings of a new game are by that finally over.
According to our team there are changings, too. On the one hand we can present Hummtaro as our first new member, he is in charge of converting and adaptation modelling. Our former GFX Artist MAL_ONE will be henceforth an inactive member of our team. MAL_ONE is an outstanding talent, who managed over a long period of time an awesome and superb work for us. We as a team can't thank him enough for this. Even though we are sad about his decision, we respect it and wish him all the best for the future. Fortunately we already could gain a new member for our team and this job, the speech is about Massacre, our second receipt we have to note. He already proved his talent to us und we are looking forward to work with him. :) That you are able to imagine what he is able to, we present here two of his former works.

There is even progress, when it comes in general to the extent of different integrated scripts in the modification. Thus now we implemented the ambulance, firefighter, taxi and police missions and so these are gonna be availalbe in the next version aswell. We included a script, too, that you can buy hotdogs at the hotdog vehicles. Even small functions, which contribute to the charm of the modification, get's therefore implemented.
But what is the use of empty words? We invite all of you, create your own opinion and watch yourself! ATP cut a video, which shows a part of his new scripts for Version 1.2 and therefore delivers a great overview. In the video several aspects are presented, which were wished for by all kind of persons in the past and so we are positive, to be able to declare Version 1.2 as "interactive". - have the knowledge of what is possible on stage of the engine (IDE/IPL)
You can be with us, to bring this modification to the home stretch and finally, when this modification goes online. Because the situation is still, that we could realize our remaining goals ourself, but this means aswell, that it will take longer till the release. Therefore we would be really glad and would appreciate it, if someone would like to help us in a competent way, that would really be a discharge. Because we also want to enjoy ourself with the new version and want to have fun while playing it!
Last but not least, the question of all questions. How does the future of GTA United look like, what do we still need to do and when can the release of "GTA United 1.2" be expected?
In this issue we are totally honest, because everything else wouldn't make make much sense, not only for us. We do not have a release date for Version 1.2 yet and aren't able to announce one aswell, even if we want to. The reasons for this are as already mentioned above, that we still are not satisfied with what we archieved. What we already finished until now, is like we think a remarkable amount, which extent goes beyond what we already presented and mentioned in all previous reports about the modification alltogether; what would a new version be like, if there wouldn't be any secrets and things, to explore? Despite that, our roadmap isn't finished yet and therefore a definite fixation of a release date wouldn't have a great value. We wouldn't know, if we could manage it to finish our modification in the remaining time, we all do have a privat life aswell and work on this in our free time, without getting a real reward besides the fun doing it. Naturally we could say "GTA United Version 1.2 will be released in summer 2011 definitely", but even so we really would like to do that, this statement wouldn't have any substance. It may could happen theoretically some day aswell, that we announce the release as shortly before standing. But that all depends on how quickly we can finish the remaining goals we have and how much help we get.
In the sense. Thank you for your patience, your joy with the modification and your backing. Stick with us, help us, fight for us! We do all have the same goal. :wub:

It's nice to see that you guys are still keeping it up and don't give up. The teaser shows that you already included many features of the normal SA gameplay into it. I don't think so, but did you already start with couple of missions (parachute flights made me curious)? And will replays of United 1.1 work in 1.2?
There is really a lot of patience and effort required for such a huge modificaton I guess, so best of luck for your further works and tasks!

Real story missions aren't gonna be implemented in Version 1.2. This is planned as the main task for a theoretically next version after V1.2, if it comes to that so. Our objective with 1.2 is to make everything else as good as possible, so that the basement is totally set. What you see in the video is actually part of a script we call "Like a Bird" .. with other words parachuting with the task to fly through different rings and/or land on different objects, like the boat. :)
According to the replays, Rusch just send me one of his replays from Beta 1.1 and I tested it with the latest intern pre-version of 1.2 I have, the result it, that the old replays seems not to work. The reasons for this are, that quite a few things of the backround systems got totally remade for Version 1.2, the script system to mention only one. This sadly results in this incompability. But we can't have everything, Version 1.2 is therefore in every other aspect better, you can even think of.
According to the roof fixes, yes this is one of the remaining tasks we have. We know about this, I personally know actually nearly every single roof bug there is, and we want to this to be fixed. This is one of the reasons we are not satisfied yet, as mentioned above. Try and help us getting a real good and willed modelling artist, so that everything goes faster. ;)

A few month have past since our latest official news and we were able to achieve a lot again. That is thanks due to ATP who consistently and effectively works on this modification and therefore contributes a lot to the new interactivity and variety of version 1.2. At this point the whole team of our modification wants to congratulate Aschratt sincerly - recently he couldn't work that much on the modification, but that was because of a cogent reason: he finished successfully his study of computer science. Before we start now with the actual news, I want to refer once again to the already published official news in the past, which contain a lot of information all around version 1.2 and it's development process. We already finished a lot of our goals, which should be clear based on these messages.

Let's start with what this news is mainly about. We set ourselfs two big goals. At first our plan for version 1.2 is, if possible, to make all the single already existing interior of Liberty City and Vice City accessible (an interior is an area in the game, which doesn't get's loaded as part of the "outside world", so in other words, an interior is what is inside the buildings, like savehouses, shops and so on). Whether if it is Marco's Bistro or the concert hall in Vice City - in United 1.2 you will be able to enter all known scenes and much more aswell. At this point, there are several aspects to be thought of - we do have an intent, plus an compromise to consider! Our intent is, if possible, to not change in this process the buildings (so the so-called 'exterior'), so to maintain the original status. As great as this attitude is, this intent is hard to follow, which have two reasons; the first reason is the fact, that some things must be adapted, one example is the concert hall of Love Fist mentioned above. This interior misses some textures and collisions aswell, so in order that it can be used by players, it must be fixed in some ways. We surely take care, that the result is something, which suits to the style of the original concert hall. Aspect two leads us to the compromise in this topic. Because we want a general and equal standart in GTA United relating these exterior-interior links, and not some mix out of the three different types of the single GTA games to handle this, we made the choice to adapt some of the entrances of some shops, so that they are enterable just like in San Andreas. This work isn't finished yet, however, it is certainly already very advanced.

Furthermore we want to integrate the usual San Andreas shops into both cities, so restaurants, clothing stores, tattoo shops and so on. Natural, the question is here where they could be located. We solved this problem by searching shops and buildings in Liberty City and Vice City, which indeed already have a suiting theme respectively exterior, but never had an own interior - and assigned them the accordingly San Andreas interiors. For all the other interiors from San Andreas we thought off being necessary, we made the compromise again, to include them with little changes on the buildings. These changes are of course as little as possible. With this the desired (and familiar) interactivity from San Andreas through the shops and the like has arrived in GTA United!

As soon as these works regarding the exterior-interior links are finished, our next step will be to build up the interior's scripts, which will mean nothing else, then that the Pole Position Club, the Malibu Club and every other interior aswell will be finally brought to life.
We also work on fixing map bugs. Though we must admit at this point, that this work isn't as well developed as we would like it to be. We simply didn't have the capacities nor the time until yet, to achieve much in this matter. Therefore we want to call once again for help! Motivated and talented modder, which have skills in mapping and modelling, are always invited to contact us! In any case, you can see our newest results of the just now called fixes by looking at the following pictures.

Here we already replaced on some of the skyscrapers a simple textur through a real roof. In addition there was in GTA United 1.1 a big incorrect place in 'Bedford Point' to find. Here were many roofs of the buildings already bugged in the original GTA III, which was naturally only noticed to the full extent with the conversion into the San Andreas engine. Amid these houses there was a big 'hole' aswell, no collisions, neither textures. Of course this couldn't stay as it was; based on the engine of San Andreas, where every building can be walked on from above, we wanted to bring in here something, which could serve as good substitute, or better, as good extension. That can be seen in the pictures 4 and 5 in the compilation above. Bugged buildings there does have a real roof with collisions now, too and amid the buildings there is now - now, that you will see then in version 1.2.
Finally we once again created a little video, which content is a GTA typical phone mission, just like it will be included in the next version. So this is one of a row of missions, which will be startable from the different phone stations. In the sense, we wish you a lot of fun while watching the video ... and expect us! We fight and are always moving forward with our modification!

Well, there are people, who care about stuff like that. GTA United is not only a map conversion mod, we want that people can actually do all kind of things in GTA United, not only "driving around and that's it". ;) Besides that we are on the way fixing the map bugs, plus we recently fixed the biggest major bug beside the old save bug, that crashed our game the whole time. :wub: So to say, there nearly isn't anything anylonger, which crashes United, it's really stable now.

Spring has just begun and for the seventh time, we are pleased to present you the latest about our new upcoming version 1.2 of GTA United. We were able to make great improvements in developing again, so it's about time to present things. At this point we would first of all like to discuss the most interesting question that everyone comes in mind first; when will the release of the new version be? So far, we could not answer this question, because we did not know ourselves. We have and always had high expectations for ourselves, to create a completely new experience that can not be compared with the previous versions, and given the fact that it has exceeded even our initial horizon, the development of the modification takes a long time and is difficult to predict. This fact unfortunately hasn't changed very much, we also can't give an absolute and defined release date today - but this time, there is one change. We have now reached a point, where we can make a more accurate estimate of the subject disclosure, probably in near future. In other words: We officially announce, that GTA United 1.2 will be completed in the year 2012 - and the exact date will be announced in the next official news. At the end of this post, we go once again into detail about this subject, but let us first of all start with our latest achievements. You may know one or two of them due to the fact that ATP publishes on his Twitter account updates frequently to his current work on the mod. Nevertheless these contents are not everything that we have to offer, of course.
Shops & Interiors
The last news we announced was, that we will make any interior, that was present in GTAIII and GTA Vice City - accessible. After last time, where we were able to show great progress already, it now moves to the next round. In addition to many more things, a few highlights to mention are the Love Fist concert hall, the Greasy Chopper bar, aswell as Auntie Poulet's house. The interiors are equipped with collisions, so there are no bad objects that float, could pass through one or other the like.

Gangs
The gangs of GTA III and VC are now completely present in version 1.2 of our modification. We are in this position because of a special script that we have created, that allows us to use more gangs than in GTA San Andreas. The gangs are now placed again in their areas.

It should be noted here, that not all gangs will directly appear in the game, an example would be to call the Diaz gang; the reason for this is, that they are simply not needed yet. That does not mean, that they are missing completely, they will be stored for any purpose in the game files so they can be used at any time. The new gang peds were converted from Mandog (http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showuser=583550), the associated cars were converted by cj2000 (http://www.gta-worldmods.de/forum/profile.php?userid=5445). We as the team want to thank both of these people very much. You guys did an outstanding job!
Other
In addition to the mentioned changes above, we have also added some other small improvements. This includes repaired zones, improved AT400 traffic script, completed statistics and new courier missions.

Closing Remarks
How does it go on from now? What are we planning to do and what are the things that prevent us from releasing the modification just today? Let's talk about the last point for first. We think - and we hope this got more clear after this news post - we have made good progress so far. Maybe the circumstances could have been better, maybe everything would have been faster, but it's not the time to talk about what may be. The point is that we are on a good way to present you a great piece of work - in scripting, in mapping, and in everything making a living modification. What still keeps us from showing you more details of our work - and be ensured that you have not yet seen everything - are mapping and modelling tasks. Aschratt is still working to fix several LOD- and collision issues around Liberty City (especially rooftops). To tell it in easy words, this means that the face of the modification is just not ready yet. It would be a great help if we could find someone who knows about mapping and modelling - also for one or two more tasks in this area. The sooner we are able to finish this part of the modification, the sooner we could release GTA United 1.2. We will be working on this subject matter until we, and hence later you as the players are satisfied with the whole project. But we can just ask for help, so if you want to be a part of the most innovative modification for GTA San Andreas this is your chance to join us! Anyway we will continue our work regarding the scripts. In this direction the modification isn't a bottomless pit any longer. Regarding the question, how the things will move on from now concretely, we shall now explain exactly, how we intend to make the publication of the modification official. We will stick to a 3-medal-system, that will visually illustrate the status of our modification.
Stage 1 – Bronze Status
- Forecourt to completion
- Basic background work has been completed. There have also been included a very large number of improvements and innovations in the modification.
- The map is finished, at least as good as.
Stage 2 – Silber Status
- Version 1.2 is nearly completed. From this point on, last-minute changes and corrections are made, from here on the the last major test phase begins.
- With the silver status the official and effective promotion of version 1.2 begins.
Stage 3 – Gold Status
- 100 %, Completion.
- The development of the modification GTA United 1.2 is completed.
- 1 week until the release
This system brings with it, that once we have reached this stage, we make it official. And this is, what we want to do. We will, as soon as we think we are ready, publish without significant preparatory work the messages, to keep you up to date. The reports of the Bronze and Silver status will not be written as a large independent news, rather than informational messages. The next big news will thus then be the last, the message about the gold status of the modification, so about the completion. Until then we plan to demonstrate our progress as before and not anylonger in intervals, so you always know what's going on.
Where are we now to our own estimate? And ultimately, how long does it take? Based on the system above, we are currently working hard to achieve the Bronze status. When will this be the case, cannot currently be said precisely, but we do what we can. In any case, the release will be this year, the sooner this can happen, the better, because we want to see our modification published aswell. We hope for your support on this modification, so that it can become, what we hope - an experience.

Usually I'd slap a TL;DR on this text, but it was a nice and long read with a lot of information. I'd say I'd lie if I understood why this takes so long, but the things you added so far are already top notch! I love how we're going to see the older gangs aswell, aswell as the tool shop and stuff like that. Makes me feel nostalgic again :)
Only one more question, which I think is unnecessary but I don't remember: Will the two cities (VC,LC) be added to the existing SA map or will it remain like it is in 1.1?

Well, I've been taken a closer look the whole story and I have to say it's great and all but for me the most important thing is that city-maps look exactly like the original ones. Unfortunately that isn't the case. After already being familiar with a stupid roof on the LC stadium, I now also see a Binco in VC. :cheersad:

Yeah. We made a compromise between originality and content, that we want to include in our modification. Our general intent is indeed, that the maps are as original as possible; therefore we removed the ferry out of 1.1 again, for example, we think aswell, that this modification was a mistake. But on the other side, we want to make the mod interactiv, so that you can actually do all kind of things. GTA United is not a simple map conversion for stunters .. that must be clear. I myself was a stunter since a long time and I see and understand your point of view, but I must say, that I'm quite happy with our policy now. Being back in the old cities, being able to do all kind of things with all the advantages San Andreas offers .. that is, what makes our mod great and special. That is the way of our modification. :)
And regarding the lc stadium, I agree on that point, but I was overruled. :P The thing is, that the stadium does have some events now. Well, it shouldn't be a big problem, to bring that into it's original form, even if it will not be changed in the "normal" setup of version 1.2. Maybe, there will be a way to offer alternative files for this little object. ;)

The Maps are located in the same place, but the replays won't work nevertheless. The reason is that United 1.2 got a complete new ID structure and the script is also a completely different one.

During the last weeks I overworked the seabed. I closed the big holes in the seabed and fixed the "gaps" that existed between the seabed and the shore. Some examples:

We already fixed all of the roofs, as you can see in my earlierer posts. We add the shops because it is our target to make the map more SA like.

I said it before, but GTA United 1.2 is more then a modification for stunters. We are doing ALL the things we want to ensure it is a enjoyable mod for everyone. Therefore, we are doing our job, we are doing it more then right and for sure we are doing it best, when we are not confronted with nonsens like yours. Thanks. :mellow:
Just respect the work the modders behind this modification put in. Other people may started this modfication but nowadays everything depends on ATP and he is one hell of an awesome modder (can't emphasize this enough). He did so much and is still doing, just wait a bit more. All that's left now is to support and motivate us. Hell yeah. ;D

There will be only one version 1.2. :) And besides, 1.2 will not include a real story, there are "only" some custom side missions.

Will the performance be better in 1.2 btw? Recently tried out 1.1 and i'm getting horrible lags, although my computer is quite capeable of running smooth 25 fps with medium settings.
While trying out 1.1 i put the settings to a minimum and it still was nowhere near 25 fps nor stable. Let alone that it always crashes after about 5-10 minutes. :(

25 is all i need since its fluent.

you know, you could always put the advanced shit on low and use a low Draw distance timecyc, and an fps increaser

I don't really know whether this is the general, but at least I myself don't recognize any frame drops in the latest internal version. 25fps are stable with Frame Limiter on, with Frame Limiter off I get around 58-77 fps (just tested); computer specs: 8 gb ram, i7 quad core, geforce gtx 470 .. my computer is 2 years old.
What we did is to modify and fix many things in the backround systems of the mod, e.g. new scm system, new ID arrangement, list goes further on ... with other words, United 1.2 is more efficient, clean and sophisticated then the previous versions. Whether that does increase the physical performance .. I can't say.
Regarding the crashes .. they are fixed. The car-crash bug as well as the save bug. Saving and loading savegames is no problem with 1.2 anylonger.

Well the "background" stuff must (haven been) the problem. The maps of LC and VC, even when put together, cant possibly be more exhausting to the computer than the SA map.
As a result those words make me look forward to a way more stable, playable United. Can't fucking wait.

Well the problem is that my machine also runs the game around 70 FPS without the frame limiter, so it is hard for me to comprehend this drop downs for me.
As LiveLife already said, we reorganised the whole background system, wich means new SCM system, new ID and file layout and so on... That was important and necessary, it made the game reliable and stable.
But I think the drop downs are caused by collision files, that are not optimized enough...

Because it is our target to make the map "SA style", so we also handle shops and interiors in the way SA it did.

It's done, the next official news to GTA United 1.2 is ready to be pusblished. We hereby officially announce with joy that our modification has reached the Bronze Status. In the last news from March 21st, 2012 (http://www.gtastunting.net/index.php?topic=28645.msg1181863#msg1181863) we had presented the system with which we want to illustrate the way to the final completion of our modification. Let's take another look at the overview.
Stage 1 – Bronze Status
- Forecourt to completion
- Basic background work has been completed. There have also been included a very large number of improvements and innovations in the modification.
- The map is finished, at least as good as.
Stage 2 – Silver Status
- Version 1.2 is nearly completed. From this point on, last-minute changes and corrections are made, from here on the the last major test phase begins.
- With the silver status the official and effective promotion of version 1.2 begins.
Stage 3 – Gold Status
- 100 %, Completion.
- The development of the modification GTA United 1.2 is completed.
- Announcement of the release date.
As we now announce pleased we were after seemingly never-ending work finally able to complete the work on the map, which can be considered a major milestone in the development of the modification. This work included alongside the integration of many savehouses, shops, restaurants and interiors ("inside levels") also new secrets, which were incorporated into the modification. But this is not enough, just as thousands of bugs regarding the map have been fixed. At this point, we however do not claim to have absolutely fixed 100% of the bugs, or in other words, that the map will be perfect in every aspect; this is not feasible given the level of our modification and our small team. But let's just say - we are extremely satisfied with what we have achieved, given the initial position of beta 1.1. Version 1.2 is not an update ... it's a new experience. A totally new modification! And this gives us confidence to fulfill the hopes regarding our modification in every aspect. ;)

At this point we have to make a further announcement official. Aschratt, our longtime lead developer and founder of the modification in its origins has left the team for the development of GTA United 1.2 due to time constraints. This, however, has no further relevance for the completion of version 1.2 because this step has happened some time ago and we are ready for this. We keep our word and now in less than two months we will publish 1.2. At this point we would like to thank Aschratt for his long devotion to this modification by the entire team. Your works are stunning Aschratt and there are not many in the world of GTA modding, which can be called with you in the same breath. Thank you for everything. You are awesome.
What's next?
Given the fact that between the last news "It's Gotta Be Love" and the current Stage 1 announcement half a year has passed, it might give the impression that until the completion of version 1.2 still a lot need to be done and this will take quite a while - which will not be the case. Our plan is to release later this year and accordingly, the last two stages can be achieved more quickly. The exact release date can not be announced this time, but the way is clearly indicated. According to the definition outlined the release date of GTA United 1.2 will exactly be announced with the Stage 3 - gold status news message. With publication of this message everything will be resolved and we will then also apply correspondingly to the public. Now for us remains only to say: until Stage 2 - Silver Status news! Support us! Help us! Please do have one last time a little patience.

Tons of map fixes will be included, the ferry is gone, some small changes here and there, the implementation of interiors, shops and so on, there are indeed quite a few changes, yes. Regarding the replays, let's say i'm not 100% sure .. but i highly doubt that old replays are gonna work with version 1.2, because so much has been renewed from scratch in the backround systems (IDs, scm, et cetera). News .. not yet, but they will come.

Version 1.2 is hence almost finished and it now goes to the very last, final phase. We look back on a time that has not been without problems, where we had to solve team-internal disputes, a time when we had always to affirm ourselves, where we had to show "We are still alive!" .. but also a time in which we have worked with joy at the new version. The progress came, step by step, and there are few things more beautiful than to see how the own work slowly takes shape. The support we have received here was absolutely necessary for survival, no doubt, because without motivation, such a modification can not be realized. For this diverse motivation - we thank you all. The more we look forward to finally set this modification in not too long time free and to find the conclusion. The best comes in the end. And thus remains only to say that we are continue counting on your help and support!

Do you know that feeling .. you have a hobby that you can fully enjoy, in which it doesn't matter what time of day it is, it's fun and you will simply not get tired to pursue this hobby? And this kind of hobby is also one, which can bind you many years, which can motivate you many years and also which doesn't let you doubt over the years that what you're doing is a great thing, one thing that is worth it performing. In such hobbies it then also doesn't matter if it takes a long time until you see any progress, until you see a possible outcome, because there are only two things that are important to you: on one hand the goal taken alone and on the other hand the way to achieve this very goal itself. The GTA San Andreas modification "GTA United", the development of the brand new version 1.2, have been such a hobby for us as developers, it took us many years working away, granted many great moments and ultimately means a lot to us, aswell. To drive up this modification to it's utmost, to realize the diverse wishes and demands to the modification, to get out the absolute best out of United and ourselves, that has always been our goal, our motivation. One goal of this magnitude can not be achieved alone, a team which is characterized by different skills and so supports itself is therefore of vital importance and so we got to know lots of people over the years who supported us in their own unique way. Is it that they have worked effectively on the modification or that they told us about bugs in previous versions of the modification, which we wanted then to patch aswell. Thus, many contributed their own part to our current position and for that we would like to sincerely thank you from the entire team of GTA United, without this assistance would not have been realized much.
Gold Status
After over six years of development, when the first work was started regarding our two original modifications VC2SA and LC2SA, we now, here and today come to the final point, which we have all longed for exceedingly. We demanded a lot of patience of ourselves as well as of the fans of our modification, that we are of absolutely clear - but we can only say that it has been confirmed: good things take time. Hereby we officially announce and full of joy that the GTA San Andreas modification "GTA United 1.2" has reached it's Gold Status! The development of version 1.2 is now completed to 100%, we are ready now to release GTA United 1.2! To celebrate, we have released a small selection of very special pictures for you right now. We hope that they make you want more. ;)

At this point there is now, of course, to clarify one last important issue. It is, in principle, the question of questions, which we have faced over the years, understandably. Besides all the new content, fixes and improvements that have been incorporated into the modification and over which we also have subsequently reported repeatedly, we were always asked a special question, a question we could not really answer for a long time - because we ultimately didn't know it ourselves, because the development of such a modification such as ours is poorly predictable. And so it happened for a certain period of time that we have simply responded with the famous phrase "when it's done" because this phrase expressed to us exactly what it means. A job where you put into it a lot of time and effort should then finish when it really is and not just if everything is still in a preliminary state, where half of the content is not working as it should. The point is - the uncertainty comes now finally to an end! The question, of when our modification, when GTA United 1.2 will be released, we are now finally able to answer! The day, on which GTA United 1.2 will be released, is:

Now it's out, in 4 days the grand finale is reached! ;) It was a journey that has made us have a lot of fun and we are very satisfied and happy with what we have achieved. There have been incorporated many changes in the modification that will have a catch on the ones, maybe a little less partially on the other .. but this is the way things go, because tastes are different. Nevertheless, we are really confident that the vast majority will be well received and really anyone can and will have a lot of fun with GTA United 1.2. The old feeling of the games GTA III and GTA Vice City combined, and spiced up with the engine of GTA San Andreas, this is something unique, from the idea to its practical realization. 24 hours to go. Two more advices: make sure you use a clean installation of GTA San Andreas for the installation of GTA United 1.2. Another advice is, that you may try one of following gta_sa.exe versions; US 1.0 (size 14 383 616 bytes) or EU 1.0 (size 14 386 176 bytes) if you should get an error during the installation. If these things are given, nothing should go wrong. I hope that makes everything clear. :mellow:

The old U-MP will not work with United 1.2. But "dimonml" from (Link (http://www.gtasrv.ru/)) already contacted us in order for making a new sa-mp adaption and (with probably assistance of ATP) he tries to realize it in January / February 2013.

The old U-MP will not work with United 1.2.
This is not the old GTAU:MP T3 but a newer version based off SAMP 0.3b. Nice to know you're not letting the multiplayer down :)

The reason why any mp based on 1.1 shouldn't work with version 1.2 is, that the new version has a complete new backend (so background systems have been renewed); so any mp for version 1.2 must be adapted for this. ;)
