Hey everyone who's into VC stunting, it's probably the first and also the last topic I open in the VC section, but this time I got curious.
I just started playing VC again because of the good story, the pleasant songs on the radio, so basically because Vice City is Vice City. I guess everyone knows about the pcj challenge 'mini mission' through the alley near the original safehouse. As a kid I always found that track too hard but now, after several years of stunting in SA and several hours of 'stunting' in VC, I beat the race in 59 seconds just for the second try. And I started to wonder how quick skilled VC stunters could beat the map... I would like some members to tell their record time, or preferably to record the run and show it here, I'd be curious to see who can get it the fastest way. I hope someone's up for this hard challenge :D

The record for it is 44 seconds if I remember correctly, I think the best I've got on it was 49 maybe?

I'd love to see some GTAS guys attempt a VC speedrun, very repetitive but once you have the strategies/methods down I'd imagine years of stunting would help shave off a few seconds here and there :P

These are some really tight runs :ninja: The 43s kid made the last few checkpoint incredibly well, and the jump over the truck, too. It's funny how he gets some of the cps (especially the one after the underground part) when he doesn't even go close to them :lol:

Should be doing it with original SCM since Dannye's removes the cinematic camera from the few unique jumps in the run.

You lost time compared to the 43 second run on that underground stair thing as well. The checkpoint going out is pretty easy to get so you can go on the other side of the pole for a quicker line :ajaja:

I noticed that after I got that one, tried re-doing it the right way but would always goof up somewhere. And after a certain amount of tries I just started fucking up more and more so I rage quit :euro:

Just got 46, but man I hate that jump over the truck.. it's so random and even when you finally go straight the landing makes you slide sideways. The rest of the route is super easy to do quickly every single time but I cannot for the life of me do the truck jump <_<

Use Dannye's with Car Vulnerable and Ghost City OFF :wub: Like Cooper said, in the challenge there are no cinematic views from unique stunts! :mellow:

3- Press F to get off the bike and F to ride the bike so the challenge starts :P (Sometimes you load the Pos 1 and enhances the challange automatically)
4- Load Pos 2 as soon as you see "PCJ Challangerino" (You skip the explanation)
5- Do your Best, fucked up? Load savegame
6- Repeat :P

and i'll try beating 45 tomorrow sometime, had a few runs 45 but no luck beating it, i can keep up easily until coming out of the underpass i lose a few seconds.
Why bother with car vulnerable off, wouldnt make a difference, correct me if I'm wrong though.

Also, theres a quicker way for this,
Pos1= pcj start point
pos2= sanchez or something parked very close to pcj
start challenge by getting on pcj, do challange, mess up, spawn pos 1, get off pcj, on sanchez to fail mission, off sanchez, on pcj to start mission, as soon as you get on bike, accelerate, will skip intro, try challenge, rinse and repeat

I honestly don't think I can improve it anymore :lol: There's so little left to improve, and even if there was enough to improve to nudge it down to 42s, I don't think I'd have the patience to do it.

Seems like everyone is getting better at this, impressive runs! Simon's was really close to be perfect I'd say, but doesn't that suicidal krail make you lose some time? And c'mon guys, someone should get 43, the record must be done by a professional stunter!

lol, my gta vc and lc and saivc haven't audio at all, when i stunt i just listen aimp or music at youtube
about proper copy of the game, all my repacks use many stunters and haven't any problems at all, i cut audio to make size smaller, because stunters doesn't need any audio from game to stunt
make 40 seconds and you will say hello to my friends

I use english and russian in the games, it is really doesn't matter, i know 3 languages: azerbaijan, russian and english, best of all i know russian language, also i know some words on japan, i liked playing japan games when i was kid, and i just remmeber words and also password on japan, the music which you listen at 41 second video was from one of my favorite games Captain Tsubasa 2 on NES (Famicom) (it was cover on one of the songs)

Cool one, you did that crucial ramp very well but the landing after the first upstairs jump was a bit time wasting, wasn't it? Anyway I think it's one more second off and that's the end of the game :P I'm proud this one got such attention :a-cheer:

Not going to :ninja:. However I analysed everyone's attempts frame by frame, and figured out the best way of doing this.

You should do the first ramp like fckR instead of AllBeast, because if you ramp all the way to the ground, you will always be facing left upon landing. By landing on the roof first, you don't lose any time until you hit the first checkpoint, and when you land back down on the ground, you can face perfectly towards the stairs ramp, so you don't lose any speed driving towards it. It's also much more consistent, so you won't fail as often. Even if you did angle yourself to the right by ramping all the way, turning to the right from the ramp would make you lose too much speed by comparison.
The only other point of contention is the final ramp, and I would suggest ramping all the way to the final checkpoint. It's definitely less consistent, but you do shave off enough time to make it worth it. To improve the time beyond 41 seconds, you simply have to do each technique shown here as quickly as possible :mellow:.

Fixed the video with fckR's new roof technique. Had a look myself at different variations, longer runups, trying the course in reverse, and more, but I couldn't find any way of improving this. The only thing you could do is use a Packer to get the first checkpoint with a massive runup, but that would be lame :jajaja:.

You can't drive through the building poles at the end of the alleyway without losing time, so that's out of the question, and the stability of slowing down after the shopping stairs doesn't save any time, so this is absolutely the best way of doing it.

yes, you lose at third checkpoint, but then win at 5th, because you have more speed. with fckR way 39 second is impossible
