I go there from here anyway, was kinda confused, 'cause I opened it when the design hadn't still been ported. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't even notice the name change

This is what I saw when I went there earlier today:

Yeah when I moved it to the new domain it reset back to the default theme. :P Should be fixed now.

That's actually a better name anyway :P
It was one of the names I was originally considering. I ultimately went with RockstarLoft because it has some Rockstar Games history behind the name. I also didn't use it because I thought it might be confused to easily with the TES Nexus websites even though nexus is a common word. But after doing some more looking, there are a lot of gaming websites and companies with nexus in the name so I don't think it'll be an issue.

Hey guys. Recently we launched RockstarLoft and a number of you have been big supporters and for that you have my up most gratitude. Yesterday, I received an email from Rockstar asking the name to be changed due to trademark issues. Due to this, we have decided to rename the website RockstarNexus.com. Current links to the RockstarLoft domain will be redirected for now, but please make sure to update your bookmarks to RockstarNexus.com as I believe I will need to hand over the loft domain to Rockstar. Again, thank you guys for all your support and I hope you come with us over to  RockstarNexus!

The "Always stay logged in" function doesn't seem to work on the forum, just throwing that out there.
I have to log in every time I visit, which I don't have a real problem with, it just tends to confuse me, is all.
Hmm just tested it with Fire Fox and it seems to work fine here. What browser are you using? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Slight name change, the new website will be called RockstarLoft. Sounds better and has meaning with Rockstar's history.

When you moved to the new host, the classic/desktop layout broke on iOS/Android devices. Couldn't login and layout would randomly switch, among other issues.

Since moving back to the old host, the problem has been solved.
I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!

Okay until I get some time to sort things out, I have moved GTAS back to the old hosting company. Sorry about that. Additionally, due to some disagreements with my partner in RockstarWatch, we will no longer be part of RockstarWatch. Instead, I'm planning on launching a new Rockstar Games fansite, titled "RockstarLoft". This will give more more control over the future of the website than I had at RockstarWatch. Please hang in there with me, I've got a lot on my plate at the moment and little time to do it in.

Looks like the server crashed this morning and I didn't even know it. Not sure what caused it. Sorry about that guys. Are you guys noticing the site being any faster or is it slower for you?

So are we going to some kind of new domain? like temp forums, or you just changed some net stuff so the site will look as always, but it will just run faster?
Sorry about my dumb questions, I never understood pretty well these kind of stuff
And props to you AJ! You have been doing a lot of things for GTAS that almost anybody says thanks because they don't know how hard is the work behind our screen. You rock bro!
Just net/performance stuff.

Are you guys noticing the site being any faster? To make sure you're reaching the new server, at the top left of the forum it should say "RockstarWatch.net Network" and not "RockstarWatch Network". I added the ".net" as a way to tell if it's on the new server or not. :P I can probably make the forum even faster but that'll have to wait till at least next week. I spent basically all day working on the move. Took longer than expected due to some problems that arose. I won't have any free time this weekend to work GTAS as I'll be in NYC playing Max Payne 3 early. :)

what are the new feauteres and so on? :)

Same.

Nice sig btw.
No new features. In fact, if everything goes to plan you shouldn't see anything different except for the site being faster. Once I get the site over and can judge performance, I can get rid the limit on search and recent posts. Then I can start to think about more server intensive features but that's still a long ways away.

@Everyone else, thanks for the kind words! :)

Hey guys,

Just a heads up that I'm planning on moving the site within the day to a new server. This server is supposed to be an enterprise grade server and I got an amazing deal on it. The only problem is it will require more manual attention and is on a OS to which I'm not all that accustomed to. That said, I'm trying to learn and I hope you stick with me even if I make really stupid mistakes. I hope to have no more than a two hour down time for the site once I start moving, though as always things don't go as planned. Please stick in there and hopefully the site will be speedier at the end of the tunnel.

Cheers,
AJ Collins

Hang on a minute.  The fee is yearly is it not?  How many members do we have?  If we all over the course of one year could just donate a $1, that would cover the fee and then some right?  We just all have to try and commit just once every year.

I know it's hard trying to convince everyone to help pay for the site they frequent most, but what's $1 a year.  If you put it in such simple terms, that should be easy right?

I'm writing this quick and on the fly.  I'll come back later today and see if we can problem solve this.

Getting everyone to donate money will never work, even if it is just $1. Besides, after PayPal takes it's cut it's not even a dollar anymore.

is there a way we could donate through onebip? Its a SMS donation
Onebip doesn't have a very good reputation from what I've read. They take 50% of the donation and can take months before they deposit the money into an account.

Omg I care so much about your other pages but I don't give a damn about the youtube one!
jk obviously

Yeah it's weird too, maybe some publicity that AJ used to get money to keep gtas on air or dunno..
I don't get anything from it. It's a free service that basically rewards users for visiting the site, liking the Facebook page, etc. They've made deals with places such as Amazon to give away gift cards and such to promote their stores. I figure that if you guys had even more of a reason to visit GTAS, it would increase traffic...therefore increasing potential clicks on ads and such. Doesn't cost me a thing so I figure why not try it.
