Title: Looking to create a map on VC engine
Post by: Noah on November 25, 2018, 08:45:22 AM
Sup guys. Anyone got experience making maps in VC? I tried this back in 2012, but ran into technical issues which I was either too dumb or lazy to solve. I actually did create a sizeable city using LC/VC/SAiVC/SOL models, but due to IPL related stuff I couldn't get it working.

Can anyone here make a large 3D model surface? Flatface made one for me back in 2012 as a sort of concrete foundation that I could start placing buildings upon, but the link is dead and I verymuch doubt he's still got the 3d model of it. Just a gray flat surface would suffice and would be extremely helpful.

I'm currently watching tutorials on Moomapper & Medmapper, trynna get an overview of things. Once I've sorted out the technical stuff, the construction part is easy and tons of fun since I love messing around with map editing in various games.

I cannot help you but I hope someone supports you with this. I'm sure you can come up with some nice map to stunt on so good luck with this project  :P

You could probably just clear all the IPLs out in moomapper and then scale up a large chunk of floor (ie airport) as a base :P

I've been wanting to do the same, like a proper city and not just copy paste existing models. but maybe re-use textures to make it feel like kind of like Vice City. Current tools are kind of shit, thought about writing a tool for Blender so you can edit the map directly, instead of using existing tools. But it'd probably take a while.

but if you wanna talk about it and actually plan something I'm 100% down as fuck.
