Hey everyone. I just purchased a years worth of access to a server that should be more than capable of running a stable SA-MP (or MTA) server. I recall getting requests for GTAS to have it's own server. What would you guys want on it? Obviously some kind of stunting but what specific things and features? Pre-made maps? Teleports?

MTA is much better, it just lacks a proper stunting server. Couple years ago I made some stunting server which was hosted as GTAS/TMS one by DeathCobra, but there were a few non-working things as I wasn't much into LUA.
Here's some common stuff:
- Player to player teleport function including some approve/refuse function
- Teleporting functions to hotspots & locations
- Easy vehicle spawning commands
- Infinite health
- Commands to get weapons for specific stunting methods
- Stunting maps and a command to enable/disable them
- Frame limiter
- Easy save/load commands + keyboard shortcuts
- Different worlds to avoid stalking by strangers
- Vote-kicking
- Different game modes
With the last point I mean stutning/freeroaming as stock, but keeping modes like assault, stealth, ware & race as they're also fun for a change sometimes.

I agree MTA is much better, however it's severely lacking in players. SA-MP currently has 7,045 players online compared to MTA's 2,536. In the end I'll probably end up creating servers for both but for right now SA-MP seems the easiest to setup and has a large selection of scripts to choose from.
EDIT: Do you still have your script? It might be salvageable.

Good to see you acting so nicely about creating a server, I'd like some new stunting maps to be there and if you need help, I would gladly help you with it.

Sorry I don't, it's been 4 (?) years since then. I don't really follow MTA anymore, but they also offer some useful free resources. The community and the wiki is quite helpful too when it comes to scripting support, just don't expect some dude to write an entire GTAS mode for free. ^^

mta there can be many game modes but samp server is easier to make :)

i agree with rusch but.
about the worlds, don't make them 1-10.
i know servers that have over 10000.
because if you want to avoid someone he will just visit all of the 10. simple, but he won't with 10k

As much as I love MTA and have been on it for countless hours recent years, I just don't think I'll bother going there too often.
A new server for the community IS needed, whatever place it will be, because PSA is pretty much running on inertia since Milky left.

The latest MTA has a map editor more powerful and easy of use.

Actually I'm almost to finish an awesome map to the brazilian SAMP server that I mentioned above, I can do it for you guys too :)

I'm all for it. I'd start with SAMP initially, and if that's successful, make an MTA server as well.

when people don't like you, the just vote kick you... and also if you have troll people they will vote kick you aswell. So bo offence but that idea is not that great :|

votekick is great idea lol. it would be awesome to kick
oversized annoying people, idiots or bad trolls. and a lot of stuntparks would be great, and derby arena.

its a shame psa is basically dead. Anyway maps would be cool and i have some experiwnce with samp scripting if you become despefate enough to need me.

Well I can map and do a bit of scripting too.I agree to SS's point there. Even i would Look fwd . to have a GTAS server on SAMP first and if it hits the market well I'd go for MTA too <3 .

more ppl'z (13,000+) in sa-mp but mta has 1200+ or - players
so it's better to MTA and SA-MP both like a.......if someone participate in samp and mta
