There is no limit. Actually a bigger drop should result in a stronger so called "leap". It really is about the way you hit the ground. Here is one in slow-motion, it probably helps you with positioning/timing:

Yup + If it is a long distance, try to gain some rotation speed, the fastest the tyres hit the ground, the higher I got. I mean, get the right angle, press space left then space right right before reaching the ground. That's how i do it. Depends of how you're placed of course. Post a clip :P
