Just finished the game! I didn't think the missions were all that bad to be honest. People said it was too much driving, well not for me, I currently have around 250miles traveled by taxi and around 200miles by car :P

Some cool shootout scenes, some great car chases, and a decent storyline. I like that you can move your aim to make headshots! Currently at around 65%, gonna go for 100% like I've done with all the other GTA games (except 1 and 2) so far!

Gonna follow this list, so far I've done all story missions and stolen all export cars, that's about it. Saving shooting pigeons and gathering cars for Stevie for last cause it sounds boring :P What are your favorite things to do in IV?

i got it some time ago as well... i dont know if i did something stupid, but the windows live shit and social club are retarded. the main thing i see wrong in the game is its so slow.if you fall off a bike, you have to wait 30 seconds to flop down the highway and stop after hitting a wall, 5 seconds to run and get to your bike, 3 seconds to pick it up and get on, and after that, its not even worth it anymore... even dying is slow. several seconds of black screen, a thankfully skippable cutscene, and then you have to slowly run to find a car or reload a save. which brings me to my next point. its ridiculous that you have to wait to go to the pause menu. if i just died, maybe then its time to get off and go to bed or something? no, i have to wait for that shit to respawn... gta is ment to be fast and fun. gamers don't like to wait. at all. take super meat boy for example. every level can take over 25 deaths to complete. know why people keep trying? because it takes a fraction of a second to respawn and boogy back down the hall you just died in. they screwed something up in this game. if it isnt the prementioned reasons, i must be that all the roads are oil slicked icerinks...

I played a long time ago, and have replayed since. I'm still (even after a second go) disappointed in the overall game. It relies way too heavily on style, and has very little substance. I like the main character, and I love the look of the city and the game in general, but missions are repetitive and take way too long to get good. Even when you do start to get into the more elaborate, interesting missions - they're too few and far between. Most of the time it just seems like you're going through the motions to get to the next mission.

Also, the cut-scenes are way too long. This is something that I noticed more the second time around. Sure you can skip them, but the plot is what keeps you going. Long cuts at the beginning of the game to establish characters - fine. But there comes a point when cuts should be short and to the point. The characters tend to waffle on for what seems like forever. Again, I know you can skip them, but you shouldn't feel the need to.

All in all it's not terrible, and the game mechanics give you endless hours of fun, but it's just not in the same league as GTA III and VC, which both had great narratives and enjoyable missions.

Playing hide & seek, cops & robbers, deathmatch, stunt around, doing parkour with friends. GTAIV is horribly boring to play alone imo, but if you're on Skype with a coupla buddies it's great fun for hours on end.

i love to take a ride in my Futo GT or in my F-620 and race throught the whole city. sometimes i drive from east to west and drive some highscore times. and if i want to get crazy i kill some random guys on the streets or try to make some stunts... i have to say "try" because i play it on x-box 360, and it's very hard to stunt with the joysticks
