Hey buddy!

I loved this thing. Tbh I didn't know what to expect when it started but this is serious  :ajaja:

I'm incredibly glad too see you got published on Spotify, and god willing we will see much more of it.

I also loved your pronunciation, and dare I say I could hear a hint of Indian :D coming through in some particular moments - but it all sounds great and authentic.

There ain't no brain rot from where this spitfire is coming!

I worked on one such project where I did migration of users with passwords hashed in an older algorithm! There is probably some way to determine the hash if we got the db... The trick is to check pass with the older hash on first login for legacy users and then (since user just inputted it raw) convert it to new hash and store at that point :))) This way knowing the pass value is never needed...

I'm mostly backend oriented, so if ( more a wet dream, to be frank ) I ever got to doing something like this, a frontend guy would be exactly the kind of help I would need. Especially if good with latest js frameworks...

I 100% agree with your sentiment that the new gtas should encourage new members and accept new trends.

So, yes... Twitch, YouTube integration etc. I mean... most likely something very close to what you're already imagining I think  :D

Something I would like to add is "stunter profile" pages, like a streamer would have their profile page on Twitch, with video listings, with categories, filters etc. Plenty of other ideas too...

BUT, metaphorically speaking it would be a 2.0 of gtastunting.net because it would be exactly what it once was: a centralized place for all folk to gather around and share the joy of "making stunt videos".

I would love to give this old community a place to put their history up (like currently Aries did with "gtastunting-database" which I'm impressed by) BUT also at the same time for active people from this old community to have a new home there and start enjoying being part of an active forum again with an influx of new members.

Maybe most of these new members would be interested in newer games, but they would certainly have access to all this legacy videos and history and have a platform for new productions in whichever games they feel like doing. With special attention to featuring the best and the latest of course...

Because GTAS is really about the community and SHARING stuff... not really which GTA game is the most popular at the moment. That just determines the member count :D

Edit: there would certainly be problems with pointing to old vids with copyrighted shit, and that's just the first of the numerous potential obstacles

I played with idea in my mind about actually creating GTAS 2.0. (from scratch)

Including cool new features like stunter profiles, video libraries, playlists and favourites, and brand new forums, recommendations, legacy libraries and stunter profiles (preservation of old vids), recommendations, you name it...

Couple of obstacles there: coding => easy, design => harder for me, but far from impossible with some help.
Data on this old forums would be lost, and this website would be legacy... I don't know if AJ or whoever owns the site would surrender the domain either. Or if they have some web dev experience with them or whoever owns the current site and could stand behind it as well and help out.
Content would have to be community managed as well.

However, I don't know if activity on this website merits such a restart, and if this community still has a potential to re-generate itself in such a manner since "stunting" seems to have decentralized itself since the release of GTA V and youtube uprising.

GTA 6 is coming tho, and the only way the endeavor of making GTAS 2.0 would be worth it from my perspective would be to try and push for complete community rejuvenation and trying to centralize again whole internet "stunting" community on GTAS  2.0.

This would be a rallying cry to the whole GTAS community , and I dont know if there is still strength here to do that.

Maybe someone else has will and dedication to do this in a more low key manner, and maybe that's all that's needed for this community at this stage. This is just some my wet dreams, since I'm in web dev for a while now.

EDIT: When I wrote this post, I found out about the GTAS database which Aries created! This something I had in mind, and just the existence of this is so awesome! GTAS 2.0 from my dreams would have a DB like this too, but would also include revamped forums and website and all.

I have made a first post in several years to comment on my friend's new video per tradition just now, and then I see this!

I started in 2006 when I was about 13 years old - I never knew you or played with you, but still I KNOW the name and the legendary videos you mention!

It was such a pleasure reading this post. Merry Christmas!

Oops, he did it again  :cheernutz:

Once more my friend Arnax didn't fail to deliver visionary ideas and signature executions. All wrapped up in a heartfelt edit...

And when the music is over...

Turn off the lights.

I salute you Arnax and I salute you DDX, glad you’re both well being! Hai Illex!

About Reynolds, I dunno, he always gave me the impression of being a provocateur so I’ve always took his remarks with a grain of salt. Also, I hardly felt any disrespect or hate towards me from other folks in this thread. If anyone has a problem with my modding past (Rusch maybe), I obviously do not mind, for past is born in the present by zooming in onto wider diffuse aggregate experiences. Past actions are written down, passed on, analyzed, decked out, and adapted, all whilst focusing on their long migratory route into the present. Some people do not forget, other people tolerate. It’s how it has always been. Negative assertions aside, it honestly feels good to be back! :ninja:

The only thing that determined me to start modding was myself. Some people will go as far as comparing my stunting career to my real life persona, I find that to be jejune. The only reason why I modded some of my stunts was because I never truly cared about stunting as “Art”, as some of you did. Back then, I thought that the idea of manipulating the game's physics right under everyone’s eyes was a compelling thing to do. I have stumbled a couple of times, as GangstaG, but after changing my nickname to Baseline the future was looking great for me. I was even accepted into WH, right after they have released Onslaught. As a partial-modder, it made me proud that 99% of the relatively few modding accusations I had received back in my prime were plain wrong (ShadowSniper comes to mind).

Exactly. Those are some great remarks.

And of course, I am aware Reynard is talking out of his ass here. It irks me that this lad included my name in the relation to any kind of hostile environment that has arisen on these forums over the years, for I would love to be shown any examples where I was hostile or enforcing my "ideologies" to anyone, as funny as that sounds.

Stunt videos can be artistic but they don't have to be. They can also be humorous, dramatic or simply a slide show of clips. It all depends on the intention of the maker and how successful he is in communicating these elements.

In this way stunting in general could be considered an art, for it is a display of maker's imaginative and technical prowess, where stunting is the performance part and video making is visual and auditory part of the final product.

But, stunting will not be an art for us if we don't regard it as such as viewers, for we will not care or pay attention to composite details that would define it as such. In the same way stunting will not be art for us as makers if we don't have intentions behind it to make art.

Ultimately, arguing amongst ourselves whether to classify stunting as an art or not is a pointless exercise, and certainly does not relate to having fun while doing stunting, as Reynard suggests.

Hahahaha epic topic Baseline. Hi, how you've been?

Of course everyone remembers you what are you talking about, you don't need to re-introduce yourself to these kids, just walk in like you own the place. I remember when you started as GangstaG, it was so long ago, and then we had so much laughs on msn.

Reynards, you've got it all backwards lad, when did I ever say anything about pleasure or pain, what are you smoking? You must've completely misunderstood my comment in the Arnax solo, which was an honest review of a friend's video and my first post in years. Get with the program, man.

VC Un-Modded Stunting Video Releases / Re: Arnax - I am that I am

I will try to keep it as simple as I can.
It just seems to me that what you are doing Arnax is mastering the most basic and evident mechanics of this game, and pushing them to create wonderful constructions of your creative mind. And in this particular video you have pushed them really far in many of the stunts presented. My favorite is the second stunt in the video, it was incredibly cinematic and exciting, but the video is truly full of this innovative creativity.
The underlying philosophical tones, are interesting, but not much more than that, in my opinion (except the closing quote, which I think would've been sufficient).
As a sensory experience (that ties in the stunts, the music, the editing...) this video has been done justice, and at certain moments... it excels.

These stunts were landed at 3 in the morning by dirty cheetos fingers on a keyboard. I hope you guys are trolling because you excelling at that.

What difference would it make if he landed the stunts with one hand and his dick in the other? I commented on the finished product, the stunt video as it is, and my opinion of it, nothing more and nothing less. I don't know what do you think I was trying to say, but your reply is largely off-point in any case.
