SA Screenshots & Pictures / 10 yrs after - MrC returns
« on: October 13, 2017, 12:03:45 PM »

Heyas,
this seems now to be the place for some NRG show off  :hmm:
Anyway, I'll guess I start here, posting every now and than a skin, or may some WIP-Things...
If you like any of the skins in here, just hit me up. Free give aways.

so after that 10 years later thingy (linky), wich was actually more like a messing around and re-learning the weirdness of R* textures, I slowly start making my way back...
As said, if anyone got some detailed material of my older skins - I'd be happy to see some of those (formerly know as <Cr0s5>)

So at this one I feel fine with the alpha texturing, (ok, front fender is a little too much).
But I got totaly blocked on the red areas, on the one hand I'm good with it, on the other it may could need something of whatever...
Seems to be one of those "Feeling unsure, leave it in WIP forver" things...

So this "old stunt" thing is still a thing after 12 years of GTA SA... I'm kinda impressed...
Anyway, as long as people having fun while doing, I don't give a damn about old or new.
I'l never get what's the "problem" with redoing stunts...

I'm not a big fan of this precision target stunt things, but hey, I enjoyed watching.  ;)

Got no problems with some honest words, I actually prefer those ;)

My goal was to get back in the NRGs texture by hitting some (to me) important points with some lines and dots, since it's actually weirdly stretched and totally oversized at some points...
After I got those I created some randomly curved crossing lines and stuff, slapped some effects around to see/remember what the engine does with those - the basic image file got some way better/harder contrast levels and stuff I slightly reduced them to hit the level of the game's engine. Same on the "white" lines, those aren't that white as they may look like, they are actually pretty lime greenish with some decent alpha work behind.

It's one of these "WIP and (re)learn to trash-bin" things I guess.

GTA Modding / A new NRG, almost 10 years after.
« on: October 07, 2017, 01:51:45 PM »
Hey folks,
been playing various older games, was just a matter of time till I hit Vice and SA again, and well...
One thing came to another, I got a little bored and rushed by the memories of the past, so the new saved replay directory fills quickly and also a WIP skins directory...

Took me some hours to get back into the structures of the TXDs
The metals are done, the body is started without any concept an I tried various thingys...
I think my style didn't changed that much, some here may remember.

I'm still a lil sad I lost about 80% of my data before 2010 by a heavy HDD crash a few years ago - all GTA related things were gone.
May someone around here got some of my old skins around? Or some pictures or videos...

If someone is in need, I may feel like taking one or two requests with a good concept  :hmm:

Greetings

Hey fellas,
yeah I'm kinda back, once again...
This time on oldschoolish SA and on computer.
However, somehow I feel like skinning just a little bit for myself, and almost searching for about two hours, but I can't find a working link to the modded NRG DFF pack with fixed exhaust, skinnable brakes and stuff...

Also, if I'm right, there was a kinda double sided / mirrored / whatever version, to skin left/right sides of the NRGs different, just for texting reasons and stuff.
Would be awesome if someone would've these around and upload it somewhere...

Regards / greetings
MrC (aka Cr0s5)

V Videos / Re: Awesome stunt by "thesmithrecord".

Yep, ye can place em, due Content Creator, whereever you may need them. They boost you to topspeed pretty fast.
May check more about that in another topic, there are some around I think.
I'm stunting at CC alot, just for that checkpoint and respawn thing - boosting feels pretty weird, also I can't handle that one :D
Prefer a natural style...

About the stunt:
It's boosted, so I don't like.
The stunt/spot itself seems pretty nice, wonder whats possible there on a natural way, gonna check it soon I gues...

Liked that Bus grind Combo :D

Stunts were great, but the editing killed it a bit imo...
Hate that constant blurry flashing editing style, I prefer some good cam angles and well placed but lower aggressive effects.

Body looks awesome, metals are a bit weird...

Anyway, the total is nice, but as blaze said, details are often kinda lost in movement, so I think it will sadly look a bit like a black bulb with red dots or something...

Love to save my ass via some easy stunts :D

Few days ago some nasty guy was trying to carkill me... well he started kinda raging after about 20-30 minutes chasing me :D
The unexpected thing: he was not offensive, he was just raging about not getting me...

calm easy feeling while watching, but not boring. very sweet editing.

There are more of V that older parts combined?... well turn it to any side, idgaf.

but thats another point to "dont care about what other did" - already noticed theres a lot stuff on YT, also a lot "just one stunt" videos and stuff like that, so nobody can't expect anybody has seen them all...

13
Nice to know, some people still have this nasty "<enter anybodys name> did this already in <add anyother video> before" point of view here...
OK, at V there's a low number of released videos at this point, so that "copy thing" should not happen that fast... On the other hand, by the physics change the same runup will result now to a very different landing/stunt...
but all over, any day will someone reland a stunt for a different video again. As long as that person did it on his/her own and did not steal/copy/hack any replay data, it's fine.
I don't care about that "copy"point, may that's the reason why I made only some guest starrings in a few years of stunting back around 2005-2008 - just to avoid this silly nasty "mimimi did that already" part...

Stunting should be fun, if you got fun in editing too, make some videos - it's great as long as you got fun while doing it.
while not everyone releasing the "almost same video" (with equal stunts an stuff) it's fine if a few stunts may repeat. As long its nice to watch, it's fine.
Even if you create a video full of copystunts, it's also fine, if you make a clear point, it's purposed to be like that.

aabout your video:
It was nice, enjoyable, but got one negative thing:
don't 'repeat' a stunt, talking about that one around 1:00, actually it's kinda the same stunt with different landings. take the better/cooler/harder/luckier one and place it in the video OR if you want them both, don't put them that close together. Other option might be a splitscreen thing...
Bringing these almost equal ones directly after another makes it kinda boring, just my opinion about.

Natural stunt > Secondary vehicle > added content creator props

Sign that one.
Always using what the game itself offers was the most blasting impressive stuff to me at any game, secondary vehicle bumps are also fine - thats also why stunt with modded vehicles been always kinda lame/boring to me (worked with VCs and SA handling configs a lot, so I knew it's options).
But also back in SA (skiped IV) a placed ramp was also fine to me instead of a packer - as wrote before, while it's used the same way. not at any spacy-unreal-nowhere places.

But the scondary vehilce option seems very limited in V, at least at ps3/xbox because of disappearing cars. Maybe theres a solution due modified OS which allow modding games, similar to SACC and co...

This kind of turned into a huge apples and oranges comparison discussion from the first post I guess

Yes it's different from VC on a PS2, I suggest you read some topics though if you only just found out making races makes your life easier. 100% of the testing has already been done for you.  ;) Oh and welcome back

Already read some stuff, but I prefer finding it out on my own :P
Placing some Checkpoints to a few stunts in a row works fine for me by now :D
And thank you

about parking vs modding...
In something about 40 hours of gametime I've seen maximum of two packers - both during missions, so no great chance to keep them somehow...
So I'll keep the ramps if needed (instead of packer), since also missing any vehicle spawning options at ps3/xbox.

I'd prefer the classical packer way too, but why make a bit of stunting and fun that heavy in searching a packer for hours, getting a bike somehow and don't loose one of em due that despawn-distance-stuff?
As said, to me it doesn't make a big difference, they may have different sizes and stuff, but give me the same thing in the end.
If someone's may blaming me for that, idgaf. Fun goes first place, while other cheats/mods still no option to me....
